Today we’re talking about “Fowl Pox”
Today, we are talking with Dr. Rodrigo Gallardo, a Poultry Veterinarian from UC Davis.
In this episode, we will talk about Fowl Pox, what causes the disease, how to prevent infection, and what to do if your birds get infected. This is an episode of Bred to Perfection that you do not want to miss.
Before we get started. I would like to share something that I found very interesting. When editing these episodes, especially the ones with Dr. Gallardo, I’m always amazed at what I learn as I’m editing.
As I’m doing the recording, I will ask the Doctor a question, and listen to his answer as I plan for follow up questions, and prepare for the next question.
However, I’m always amazed by the nuggets of information, as I listen to the show as a student instead of a host or interviewer.
With this said, I would like to encourage you to listen to these episodes’ multiple times. I believe you will learn something each time you listen to them.

Along with Fowl Pox, Dr. Gallardo talks to us about his new program,
“The Gamefowl Wellness Program.” This is a vaccination program for the prevention of Newcastle’s Disease. Mainly for residence in California. If this program is successful, it means we will have a product available in all our feed stores to deal with the looming threat of Newcastle’s Disease.
