What I like about the Breeders Academy, and doing coaching calls is that I get to talk with my members, for hours at times. This allows me the opportunity to meet and get to know our members.
In this episode, I will talk with Frank Bradley, who is not only a member of the Breeders Academy, but he is a great breeder of American Games.
I’m always looking at the birds on Facebook, and most of the time, I see nothing but defective and substandard birds. But, every now and then I will see a bird that looks so good that it catches my eye, and I have to stop and admire it.
Lately, many of those exceptional birds I see on Facebook tend to belong to Frank. He has a great eye, and rarely posts pictures of birds that look bad.
I told him that I would like to interview him on the “Bred to Perfection” show, and he was happy to come on the show.
Since he was a member, I told him to get together any questions he may have and we could address them on the show as well. So, this turned into an interview and coaching call all in one episode.
This was a great discussion, and we cover many topics, such as:
- The evolution of a Gamefowl Breeder.
- How frank got started raising and breeding Gamefowl
- How he learned the proper conformation of body, and the value of improving this trait.
- He talks about what he likes about the Breeders Academy, and what it’s like to be a member.
- And how the Breeders Academy compares to other breeding websites.
- The state of American Games, and will they survive as a breed or change?
- How some breeders only have the ability to improve one breed at a time.
- Why subjects like conformation, the name game and oats start fights on Facebook.
- Why it’s best to have multiple lines of the same family is so important.
- Frank asked me, “if I were to pick one method of breeding, which one would I choose?” Listen to my answer.
- Learn more about:
- Selection and culling practices.
- Feeds and feeding practices
- Health and disease prevention and best worming practices.
- We provide, through our discussion, useful breeding and raising tips and advice that will take you to the next level.
We also talk about the Breeders Academy, and what the website has to offer breeders like you. If you are interested in someday joining the Academy, this is a good episode to listen to.
Make sure to listen all the way to the end. There are tons of little nuggets of valuable information in this episode.
